About this event

Since 2017, the Hope for the Countryside partnership has held a one-day prayer gathering every November. We cannot meet face-to-face this year, but we are running two online prayer gatherings - on Wednesday 4 November (19.30-21.00) and Saturday 7 November (9.00-10.30).

Please join us for either or both these, and share in prayer for the churches and communities of rural Britain.

Hope for the Countryside's aim is to mobilise and resource prayer for the rural areas and communities of our nation.

Our vision is of beacons of prayer lighting up across the countryside. These two events will take place around the time of Bonfire Night. Normally, people would attend large bonfire events run by local community groups. These are unlikely to take place this year, and families may instead light their own bonfires at home. So, also, our focus will be to pray for the fire of the Spirit to ignite beacons of prayer in hearts, families, and homes across the nation.

Our prayer is not only for a fresh move of the Holy Spirit across every aspect of rural life, but also that the life of the Spirit will flow out from the countryside to the rest of the nation - for both hope for the countryside and hope from the countryside.

The prayer gatherings will be via Zoom online conferencing, and will include input on some key issues, sharing and prayer in breakout groups, and prayer together. Registered participants will also be invited to share any concerns and insights with the leadership team beforehand, who will feed it into the prayer gatherings as appropriate.

Organised by

Hope Countryside (originally Hope for the Countryside) is a partnership between Village Hope, Agricultural Christian Fellowship, World Prayer Centre  and Top Barn Trust.

'Hope Countryside' expresses our growing vision of beacons of prayer lighting up across rural Britain, bringing hope both to the countryside and from the countryside to the whole of the nation. Our aim is to promote understanding of, and prayer for, rural life and communities, church and mission, and farming and the land.
